Pecan Pie

Pecan pie recipes are often cherished and passed down through generations. A few special touches make the difference between a good pie and a fantastic one. This one includes a touch of orange zest that brightens up all of the flavors.

Serves: 8

Ingredients:3 large eggs, beaten 1 cup brown sugar, packed ¼ teaspoon salt 1 tablespoon flour ¼ cup dark corn syrup ¼ cup butter, melted 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 1 teaspoon dark rum ½ teaspoon fresh orange zest 1½ cup pecans 1 prepared and baked pie shell

Directions: Preheat oven to 375°F

In a large bowl, combine eggs, brown sugar, flour, salt, corn syrup and butter. Mix thoroughly.

Add in vanilla, rum, and orange zest and mix well.

Spread pecans in the bottom of the cooked pie shell. Arrange in a pattern, if desired.

Pour mixture over the pecans.

Place in the oven and bake for approximately 35-35 minutes.

Let cool and set before serving.
